Testimonials

HOCKEY
"Using the Acceleration Program's skating treadmill for skating analysis was a rewarding experience for our Development Camp players. It enables you to isolate a number of aspects related to skating, such as stride frequency, stride recovery, stride leg extension or body position. The players enjoyed the training sessions and found the feedback very informative."
Randy Lee, Ottawa Senators, Conditioning Coach

"Acceleration Ottawa was instrumental in helping me return from injury in excellent condition. Since I wasn't cleared for skating on the ice, Acceleration Ottawa's skating treadmill allowed me to maintain and improve my conditioning level in a safe environment.

There are a lot of different programs and equipment available to athletes today, but I found Acceleration Ottawa's skating treadmill program to be the most effective for simulating the skating stride and working the actual muscles used while skating. The skating treadmill not only helps to improve leg strength and endurance but also foot speed and skating mechanics.

The programs at Acceleration Ottawa can be tailored specifically to address the areas that you need to improve, which makes this program fantastic for every age group and all levels of ability."

Mike Fisher, Ottawa Senators

"For me, it didn't really change my skating stride - it made me stronger. For a young kid, not only does it get them in great shape, it can really improve their skating strike."
Todd White, Ottawa Senators

"I think there are several benefits (from the Frappier Acceleration Programs). It helps your stride... Another benefit is conditioning. Obviously, it is one of the toughest workouts I think you can have as far as skating goes. And, I think its great for younger players just learning to skate in general. There are mirrors right in front of you, they can correct it. I heard about the program through a friend of mine who worked at the facility. He brought us here and introduced to (the Frappier Acceleration Programs.) Ever since that time, we've been working out 3 to 4 times a week and have really seen some benefits from it. (The Frappier Acceleration Program) helps you with your speed, is one of the biggest things. You are turning your feet over at such a quick rate. You can't do it that fast on a regular rink. Another thing is how it helps you with your conditioning.''
Sean Hill, Ottawa Senators

"As a parent, I realize that kids will be kids and one thing kids are notorious for, is not listening to their parents. No matter how much experience they might have. My son plays hockey and needed work on his skating mechanics, so I decided to bring him to Acceleration Ottawa.

The one on one interaction between the trainer and my son on the skating treadmill has been excellent. It has improved his mechanics and stride length. The trainers at Acceleration Ottawa have worked with all levels of athletes from professional to novice. They are very experienced at picking out and working on exactly what each athlete needs. This could be stride length, foot speed, endurance or strength. I am very satisfied with this program and the results it has given my son."

Ron Tugnutt, Ottawa Senators

"The most important skill in hockey is the ability to skate - it is the foundation of the sport. Without the ability to skate well as a player, other skills such as shooting, passing, checking, reading and reacting are redundant. Hockey is not played at a constant speed - it is a start and stop game with players darting in and out of corners and to the front of the net to pounce on rebounds. The best players in the game aren't faster than everyone else, they are QUICKER than everyone else. In my playing days, Theoren Fluery and Mark Messier had the ability to reach their top speed in a few short explosive strides to breakaway from an opponent or burst through an opening to gain body position to protect the puck. Today's players like Martin St. Louis and Jarome Iginla do the same.

I know first hand Acceleration Ottawa's hockey skating program is geared specifically to improve a player's strength, agility and skating mechanics. There's also no better anaerobic workout. I benefited from training with Acceleration Ottawa the last four years of my 17-year professional hockey career and wished it were available a lot earlier. My own two boys love hockey and want to be the best players they can be so they are now enrolled in the program. I want them to receive the best training available and you can only find it at Acceleration Ottawa."

Jim Kyte, Retired NHL Hockey Player

FOOTBALL
"The (Frappier Acceleration) Program requires a great deal of focus. The structure, the intensity of the whole program is beyond belief. I saw improvements right away with the treadmill workouts, with the agility workouts, the (Sprintcords), and the weightlifting. The service is unbelievable. Especially as a young athlete, if you're just starting off it's going to put you ahead of the pack.''
Bryan Schwart, Jacksonville Jaguars

"As a professional athlete, I found the running programs at Acceleration Ottawa to be outstanding for improving my sprint endurance and foot-speed. The running treadmill is an integral part of my training, which forces me to work harder and push my limits higher than when I train outdoors or on any other treadmill. By using extreme speeds and elevations, and with the help of the knowledgeable staff at Acceleration Ottawa, we can actually do over speed training, which I find great for improving my foot speed and quick acceleration off the line. Since the programs are adjustable, I would highly recommend this program to any athlete wanting to improve their speed, quickness and agility."
Pat Woodcock, Edmonton Eskimos, CFL
